Time in Byrdstown...

We sure love to visit Byrdstown! JT had to go to Portugal for a week and the kids and I decided we would spend some time in Byrdstown with Pa and Na and Papa. Then a couple of weeks later, JT took a couple days off so we could go back. Here's where the adventures start:

These 2 goobers like to climb and hang on the trees in Papa's yard. They enjoyed hanging here...until they saw an ant trail....after investigating the ants, they decided they did not want to hang anymore....

We found 2 brooms and they kiddos swept off Papa's porch....of course, he gave both of them $1 each for their job well done.

The kids love to go to Papa's. He always has their favorites....popsicles, chocolate bars, suckers, gum, chocolate milk, Sprite....ALL of these...and more.

Anna LOVES to ride a horse or a pony. We went to the Elder's and rode their pony that they have at their house. Anna was nothing but smiles....she is a cowgirl through and through....

Samuel enjoys riding as well but he thinks that ponies are for girls...horses are for boys...he was very reluctant on wearing the hat....I am pretty sure Anna convinced him he had to in order to ride the pony...

Here is Anna doing her own little dance...she transforms when she puts on those cowgirl boots....

We also went fishing....Samuel caught about 6 fish...and cast it himself, rilled it in by himself....I was so proud of him!

And then we caught the monster....Anna caught a catfish! This thing was about 8lbs we guessed. It took all of us to pull it in...and then Pa had to get a glove to get it out of the water. Samuel was convinced that this was a river monster.....

And then the little cowgirl caught a bass....

Oh and the adventures....Pa had been saving up mess for a brush pile...and he had just the two perfect helpers for this job.

They stood and watched it forever...just looking at it....

Oh and the cherry trees....we about made ourselves sick over the cherries. I cannot tell you how many times I found myself just standing there picking and eating....yummy!

I helped Pa and Na pull the cover off of the pool so we could get it ready to swim! Of course, the kids thought they needed to help as well. Within just a few minutes of the cover being off, Samuel found his way in...Anna pushed him...she is quite sneaky! They stayed busy filling up these jugs and emptying them....over and over again....

While the kids were playing with pool stuff, Na was using the waterhose to wash off the pool cover in the yard....for some reason she thought it was a good idea to give the kids control over the waterhose....and here's what happened for about an hour....

Samuel seemed to be in control all right....he sprayed and sprayed his sister. I guess maybe it was revenge for pushing him the pool....

Still in control.....

And she did not seem to mind....

After changing clothes and getting dry again....they all headed up to the garden. There is no telling what these 2 are doing.....sharing secrets I am sure....

Samuel did everything Pa did in the garden....he worked very hard....

Then a couple of weeks later...we headed back. Check out Samuel's boots....these were from Papa....

Stuck like glue....they are good fishing buddies....

Now these 2....there are no words....

This last picture just cracks me up....Papa got Anna these red boots....now she has 2 pair to choose from....a girl cannot be without her boots....especially when she is fishing.....

What fun times at your parents! Looks like you all had a great time. Great memories for your kiddos. Love Anna's boots and that she wears skirts with them, oh so cute. And quite the bond they have with their grandparents so special.
