Our country home...

Our country home here is in Fayette County which is the next county out from Shelby county. We have several friends who live there but our friends from church Austin and Ashley live on about 11 acres and Austin's parents live on about 60 acres right beside of them....and we LOVE to go out and visit and play.

Some of us went out on Memorial Day and played. It rained a little off and on....and talk about MUDDY...but no one cared. The kids went fishing in the big pond...Samuel with his Star Wars fishing pole...Anna with none other than Barbie. They both caught one fish and I missed getting a picture. All the moms (there were 5 of us) and the younger babies stayed at the house to let it cool off some outside. Then we decided to go on to the pond....all the dads left with the vehicles or the keys....so we had to walk. It was a pretty far walk in the mud....but we made it. Austin and his dad make cabinets and do a fabulous job working with wood....that always amazes me how something so beautiful can be created from just a piece of wood. Anyway, they had some baby chicks in their shop...we had to stop and feed them. And then throw old eggs that the big chickens left in their coop.

We all headed back to the house and the guys started up the grill while the moms played with the kids in the backyard. Austin and Ashley have some grass...their backyard is woods....beautiful and peaceful....but there was mud...and lots of it. Once again, none of the kids cared....even Anna did not mind.

Below are the kids swinging....one of Anna's favorite things to do....

And then here are the babies as well. Samuel and Anna are on the horse swing, Baby Kaleigh is on the next swing and Baby Katie is on the next swing. Baby Kaleigh is Austin and Ashley's little girl....Anna calls her "baby Kelly" and gets frustrated if we try to correct her...so she is "baby Kelly." Baby Katie is Jim and Jennifer's little girl...Jennifer is in this picture as well.

Then here's Brayden....he is Josh and Katie's little man. He is very busy. We were all convinced that all the babies ate their share of mud and sand...and poured it on each other as well. All the babies got baths before they went home.

Oh yes....here are the guys...Jim, Chris, Austin, JT, and Josh...this is what they did most of the time...sit...just kidding guys!

All of the kids had their turn with this truck. We were waiting for one of them to cut loose and go flying into the woods...thankfully, because of all the mud, that never happened.

Oh and we could not be the Clark's house without going out and shooting some guns. These boys looked like they were going to war somewhere with all these weapons. I have never seen so many grins and giggles....they were like kids! They shot guns until it got too dark to shoot....Samuel got a big adrenaline rush out of it as well....he is a boy you know.

You can take a girl out of the country....but you can't take the country out of the girl...we LOVE doing these things...fishing, riding four wheelers, getting in the mud, feeding chickens, even shooting guns....we want these kids to go and do as much as possible...life is too short not to have a good time....and we love living it up with our church friends....thank you Austin and Ashley for sharing your home with us....
