Samuel has had a blast playing for the first time and we have enjoyed watching him play. This is where it all begins....and his "first" of playing an organized sport is over. Watching him learn where to go, when to run, and when not to run has been neat....they are like sponges and do learn quickly. I remember after the first couple of games, we would ask Samuel what his favorite thing about playing was...his response "Slapping hands at the end and the snacks!" They got a snack and a drink after each game....and he always shared with Anna. But now, his favorite thing was hitting. He has practiced hitting outside with daddy and a few times with Pa...the boy can whop that ball!
Below is a picture as he watches an opposing player round the base...
The spot that ALL of the boys wanted to play was catcher....it is only because they get to throw the ball back to the pitcher. Can you even handle this picture? Look at that dirty tail! And he ripped a hole in his pants at the knee on this last game as well....
I had to get one last shot of the guys as they congratulate the other team....this is a favorite time for most of the boys....showing good sportsmanship...
And then they all huddle together for one big "Go Cards!" The girls in the picture are the coaches daughters...they cheered these boys on each game....
We have been so blessed to be able to watch this little boy grow and play this game called baseball. These are the times we wait anxiously for...nervous tummies, sweaty palms, and fast heartbeats...well that is what it has been for this momma. JT and I are so thankful that the Lord has given us Samuel and Anna....our hearts has been filled to overflowing....and yet, we cut another apron string....watching these children grow up...and live the Taylor dream....
