Samuel remembers everything...seriously, I wish I could remember half of the stuff he remembers. So as we were driving down the strip in Gatlinburg on Sunday when we arrived, Samuel saw the aquarium and immediately remembered going almost 2 years ago. They have sharks everywhere...and this boy loves sharks. So when he asked if we could go, we could not tell him no. It is expensive, not as much as it used to be, but worth the money to see him light up when he saw the sharks.
Above is a picture of the kids in front of shark mouth. Anna was real big on posing in the aquarium....all of the pics from there she is doing something with her leg...good laugh...
See, check out her pose with her leg...not sure where she gets that from! Poor Samuel...he was running fever and did not want to say he didn't feel good...he is just like his daddy.
Anna informed us on our way there on Sunday that she wanted to ride a horse....I don't know if she remembered riding the ponies when we were there before or not...but she wanted to ride a horse.....so ride horses they did....
Samuel liked it but he gets a little embarrassed over things such as this...so I tried not to make a big deal about it in front of him. He rode in silence, with just a slight smile....
Now Anna on the other hand....well she smiled from the time she saw the horse, until well after we were in the truck and on our way. That child made sure she had those pink cowgirl boots on and everything. Is there such a thing as a "cowgirl princess?" I certainly think this girl has figured out a way to be both....loves boots, and loves her Cinderella slippers too....
Oh and then there was swimming....whew...these 3 were in the pool every night...indoor pool of course. Samuel and Anna completely wore themselves out with it. They both wore arm floaties...Samuel can swim...he learned last summer and Anna took lessons as well and learned to tred water some....she would swim holding on to a float or something and knew what to do. BUT, this week in Gatlinburg, she got rid of the floaties. She continued to see Samuel take his off and swim by himself so she decided she would do the same. Off came the floaties and swim she did!!!!
Samuel loved jumping in off the side, coming up for a breath, then back down to swim to the other side. If I had a dollar for every time they jumped in....
Below is Anna swimming by herself. If JT would try to put his hand under her belly for support she would grunt at him to stop. "I swimmeded by myself Daddy." We heard her say that over and over again. Amazing to me that a 3 year old can be so independent and teach herself to do things....by the way, she basically potty trained herself before she turned 2 as well. Wonder what is next with her??
It was quite cold the entire time we were there except for the last day...so we took a drive into the mountains and had a picnic at the river. Both kids love to throw sticks and rocks in water...what child doesn't? Anna saw a shark, an alligator, and Nemo in the river....and we all saw 2 turkeys walking on the side of the road. Whew...those two are silly....
So our trip was great. We love taking our kids places. I love watching them light up over the simplest things they see. Anna was convinced that the fish at the aquarium were saying her name...it was so funny to watch her get excited about their mouths moving saying her name. We love spending time with Samuel and Anna...and we are all....living the Taylor dream....
